Writing Screenwriting is my creative outlet and my work has placed in the Bluecat, American Zoetrope, and Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competitions. I've also had a feature in the Second Round of the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship (Sundance.) I enjoy using screenwriting to explore themes related to nature, commerce and personal growth. I served as Associated Editor of The SciTech Lawyer Magazine; and lectured at events sponsored by the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), University of Michigan, and Stanford University Law School. I've been reading for Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition since 2020.
Mentoring I've counseled technology companies and non-profits in senior legal roles (including as General Counsel and Board Member) for almost 20 years, as well as having my own consulting practice. I've negotiated well over 3,500 transactions with Fortune 500 companies and major government entities all over the world. Many of these deals were worth millions of dollars and required collaboration with many different people and departments. I'm happy to share what I've learned: how to claim leadership roles, ease difficult negotiations, choose the right mentors and partners, step back gracefully to make space for family or other pursuits, or start and run a profitable business.
Staying Inspired My passions include painting, health & wellness, 1960s American design, gardening and hiking, as well as Great Lakes water conservation and supporting the efforts of the World Wildlife Fund.
